Foods to Avoid during Pregnancy

Pregnancy is a unique experience for a woman. This is also the reason they are quite conscious about their diet chart during pregnancy. Did you know there are certain foods you should avoid during pregnancy? Yes, you need to avoid those food items to ensure healthy growth of baby and mother’s health.

Dairy Products

Unpasteurized milk may contain bacteria. These are dangerous during pregnancy as they may lead to food poisoning and defective digestive system. Hence, it is better to avoid dairy products during pregnancy.

Raw Eggs

These are vulnerable to salmonella bacteria which can be dangerous for the health of your child and hinder growth of your baby.

Raw meat

Strictly avoid consuming liver during pregnancy. Raw meat is a definite threat for pregnant lady. Cooked meat is a healthier option. Raw meat contains listeria which is harmful for the growth of baby.

Fish

Strictly avoid predatory fish as they consist of mercury in a large amount. Mercury prevents the brain development of your child and disturbs the mental level of new baby.

Drinks

You need to restrict the amount of caffeine during the day. Additional caffeine may lead to miscarriage or other pregnancy complications. It may even affect the weight of baby and reduces the growth rate inside your uterus. Also avoid pasteurized drinks and alcohol.

Fruits and Vegetables

Pineapple and papaya may cause uterine contractions and lead to miscarriage or serious pregnancy complications. Also avoid eating raw sprouts. These are not good for you during pregnancy.

Pregnancy period is very crucial for mothers, They had to take utmost care while eating foods & beverages. When I was pregnant I used to take care about my health. Foods like Raw cookie dough or cake batter that contains raw eggs, Homemade desserts or sauces that contain raw eggs (such as eggnog, ice cream, custard, chocolate mousse, hollandaise sauce, béarnaise sauce, mayonnaise, and Caesar salad dressing) should be avoided.

Pregnancy period is very crucial period and you take care of it for your baby. While pregnancy period every month has its own time where you should care of food to eat and avoid. You should healthy food and avoid dry fruits in early months and food which are rich in roughage.

With child care has its restrictions so do pregnancy. Every child depends on his mother for nutrition is his first 1000 days, even after the birth child has to rely on breast milk for proper nutrition. At this crucial time mothers has to take care of themselves as well as the child. In addition to Jitesh's blog i would like one add one more avoidable thing during pregnancy is spicy food like jalapenos, pepper, capsicum and garlic. They cause harm to baby's eyes and skin.

very impressive article buddy, i wanna add that avoid sea foods because Seafood can be a great source of protein and its high in mercury. Too much mercury could damage your baby's developing nervous system.

i agree with your list of foods here buddy and i also suggest every pregnant women to avoid dairy products in pregnancy period and intake lost of green vegetables and peas will be better for your and your baby health.
