Health Symptoms You Should Never Ignore
What is the right time to plan a trip to the doctor? This is a difficult question as most of us tend to avoid it as far as possible. Unfortunately, sometimes, it is too late and by the time we reach the doctor, a serious illness has already crept into our bodies. To avoid complications, it is important to know about certain signs and symptoms that need immediate medical attention:
This is not about a typical headache or migraine pain. This is all about the pain that doesn’t allow you to focus on anything else. A killing headache that you would rate 10 out of 10 on the pain scale should be immediately attended. This may be a case where an aneurysm (a swollen, blood-filled vessel) may have ruptured in your brain. The bleeding pushes brain tissue against the skull which leads to incredible pain. You should head to a doctor’s clinic immediately to know what the problem is.
Extreme (sudden) Pain between your Shoulder Blades
This may be a sign of one of aortic dissection. This is actually a tear in the wall of the largest artery in the body. This originates from the heart. The condition can potentially become fatal very quickly. However, a life-saving surgery is possible if the patient is rushed to hospital on time.
Any kind of bleeding from your rectum, coughing up blood, unusual bleeding from vagina, urinating blood etc. should be attended immediately. In most cases, these situations are harmless. Sometimes, these are not serious but you never know if it is a potential sign for lung cancer, colon cancer, bladder cancer and endometrial cancer.
Heartburn/Shortness of Breath
If you suffer from conditions such as a combination of sweating, nausea, heartburn, dizziness and shortness of breath, speak to a health care practitioner. These are possible signs of a heart attack. The discomfort you feel is caused by a lack of oxygen reaching the heart muscle because a main artery is blocked. The main symptoms are pain radiating into the jaw, or down the left (and sometimes the right) arm.
Sudden, Unexplained Weight Loss
Have you lost about 20 pounds over the last six months? Is there a loss of appetite? These signs may be an indication that your body is fighting cancer. The condition is the abnormal growth of cells that keep replicating themselves over and over. The process takes a lot of energy, a lot of food, and a lot of nutrition.
