Protecting tooth cavity depends on how you care for your teeth. When food rich in carbohydrates (sugars and starches), such as cake, bread, cereal, and candy are left on your teeth, bacteria in the mouth digests the food and turns it into acid. The acid, bacteria, and food debris lead to plaque. It rests on your teeth and leads to holes in the enamel referred to as known as cavities.
