Proteins to Cure Cancer

You must have heard about the importance of protein in muscle building. Many also consider it a must for energy, healthy hair, and body. However, what’s new is the research that concluded protein as an important ingredient for curing cancer.

There are many reasons that make protein as the chosen ingredient for cancer prevention and cure. Compounds known as isoflavones such as daidzein, genistein, and glycitein prevent growth of tumour growth and block cancer cells stimulation through sex hormones including testosterone and estrogens.

Studies have also proved that breast cancer cases have reduces significantly among Asian women who have eaten soy since adolescence. And even if they develop breast cancer at later stages, their tumors are usually less aggressive and have higher survival rates. The Isoflavone supplements available in pill form have been associated with an aggravation of certain type of breast cancers. However, there have been no reports about any negative impact of whole soy when consumed as food.

The Role of Protein in Curing Cancers

Proteins are actually chain-shaped biological macro-molecules that are built up of amino acids. The cells are mainly controlled by proteins. Most of the characteristics of the protein functions are also controlled by molecular modifications. These can be attached to amino acids.

Some of the major functions controlled by protein modifications include the following listed below:

  • Localisation of proteins at various locations within the cell
  • Protein marking for degradation
  • Turning on/off of the protein biological activity

Based on these, it has been proved that proteins are important for understanding a wide range of cellular processes.

How to Eat Protein to Cure Cancer?

You can include a lot of food rich in protein to cure cancer and even offer protection from the disease. Try replacing conventional milk products with soy milk or soy yogurts. These can be included for breakfast. You may even miso soups, tofu, tempeh, and stir-fries in your daily diet.

Include Fatty Fish

You should also include a lot of fatty fish in your diet to reduce risk of cancers significantly. Studies have revealed that risk of many types of cancers is significantly less in those who consume fatty fish at least twice a week.

Many studies have also proved that the high quantities of anti-inflammatory long-chain omega-3s found in fatty fish are efficient in retarding growth of cancer cells in the following types of tumours:

  • Kidney tumours
  • Lung tumours
  • Colon tumours
  • Breast tumours
  • Prostate tumours

You can also include high-quality purified fish-oil supplements into your daily diet in order to slow down cancer cell growth.

For maximum effect, you must have a seafood-based meal twice or thrice a week. Try choosing smaller fish such as mackerel, anchovies, small mackerel, and sardines. Canned sardines are available easily on the market these days. Make sure that these are preserved in olive oil and not in sunflower oil. Smaller fish are known to contain fewer environmental toxins such as mercury and PCBs.

Wild salmon is a wonderful source of omega-3 fats. If possible, choose fresh fish over frozen as the omega-3 content degrades with time.
