The blood pressure is raised to a great extent via eating too much salt. This condition may damage the arteries leading to the brain. Initially, the condition may result in a slight reduction in the amount of blood that reaches the brain. This may ultimately lead to dementia, also referred to as vascular dementia; a condition of serious loss of global cognitive ability in an individual.

Under this situation, the cells in the brain don’t function as they should because they are not receiving adequate oxygen and nutrients. Lowering blood pressure is the best way to alleviate some of the problems and minimize the risk of greater damage.

Eating too much Salt

In case, you continue to consume too much salt, over time, the damage caused due to extra blood pressure may become so severe that the arteries burst. Sometimes the arteries become completely clogged.

In the event this happens, the part of the brain that receives the blood no longer gets the requisite oxygen and nutrients it and eventually dies. The final result is a stroke. This is a condition wherein one completely loses the ability to do the things that part of the brain used to control.
