The Concept of Vinyasa Yoga

Derived from hatha yoga, Vinyasa yoga differs in certain crucial ways from its predecessor. Vinyasa yoga ensures a lot of diversity. The pace can vary and no one sequence is supposed to be followed by instructors. As the name in Sanskrit suggests “variations within parameters”, the type of yoga ensures a lot of flexibility. It facilitates the teacher to tailor the sequences to their own philosophy. Hence, if one class doesn’t work for you, it is better to try another. You may continue doing this until you find one that you are comfortable with.

Vinyasa yoga allows for a lot of variety. It includes sun salutations. Hence, you can expect a lot of movement apart from stretching. Regardless of whether the class is fast or slow, it includes chanting and is alignment-oriented. Some of the most popular yoga styles include Ashtanga and Power Yoga.

Is Vinyasa Yoga the Right Choice?

The strength of Vinyasa yoga is in its diversity. One doesn’t have to follow a specific philosophy, series, or rulebook. This ensures a lot of room for individual personalities to come through.

In case, you didn’t enjoy your first class, keep trying or go for different trainers. In case, you wish to add a few variations to the yoga class, you may well do it with the permission of your instructors.

Vinyasa yoga is great fun and challenging way to work out. In case, you are new to yoga or are not use to exercising, it is better to switch over to a gentler form of yoga.
