Yoga Breathing Exercises for Quick Weight Loss

Kapalbhati is one of the basic breath techniques in Yoga used for weight loss. This is also referred to as the breath of fire technique. It helps you to breathe rapidly, rhythmically and continuously while relaxing your body.
Step 1: Sit on a yoga block with your legs crossed.
Step 2: Draw your body straight, with an elongated spine, neck and chin up.
Step 3: Place yourself comfortably closing your eyes and placing your hands on your knees.
Step 4: Don’t strain your abdomen muscles.
Step 5: Deeply inhale and exhale the air out of your nostrils.
Step 6: When you sniff out the air, you feel your abdomen pulling inside.
Make the above breathing exercise your daily routine for a good start of your day. Try to perform around 30-50 breathing rounds in a day.
The Yoga breathing exercise massages abdomen and the fat stored around it. It also activates and burns the fat facilitating weight loss.
Step 1: Be seated in your ideal yoga posture (padmasana).
Step 2: Relax yourself with hands on your knees and palms facing upwards.
Step 3: Inhale deeply and forcefully so that your lungs are full with oxygen.
Step 4: Exhale making a hissing sound.
Repeat the entire round for about 5-10 times.
Anulom Vilom Pranayama
This is an alternate nostril breathing technique that facilitates weight loss.
Step 1: On yoga mat sit in your relaxed position.
Step 2: Press the right nostril with your right hand thumb.
Step 3: Breathe in through the left nostril.
Step 4: Retain the breath for about 5 seconds.
Step 5: Press your left nostril with the ring finger of your right hand and leave the right nostril to exhale.
Step 6: Repeat the same with left nostril closed and breathing through right nostril.
Step 7: Retain the breath until 5 seconds and release air through left nostril.
Repeat the entire exercise for around 10-15 times daily.
